SJH Events: Feb 24 & 27
Hello folks!
We have two exciting events coming up this week to share with you:
* SJH Drop-in: Two-Spirit and Trans+ Community Organizing * Register herehttps://forms.office.com/r/3DAJ6kVtPe * Tues, Feb 24th, 12 - 1:30pm, at CEL (55 Chancellor's Circle)
Join student groups Two-Spirits Talking, Trans+ Chill, and UM QTBIPOC at the Social Justice Hub for a teach-in and discussion on building and organizing gender-diverse community. Gather and talk with folks who are bringing students together in safer spaces and transforming their communities' university experience - and learn how to get involved!
* Pathways for Institutional Change at the UM, with Vice-Provost (Equity) Tina Chen and Vice-Provost (Students) Laurie Schnarr * Register herehttps://forms.office.com/r/wL8aQspbEN * Fri, Feb 27th, 1 - 2:30pm, at the Gaamaamawabing Conference Room - 322 Education
To make change at the university, you need to know how the system works! Whether you are a student with dreams of changing things for the better, or a faculty or staff member looking to support them, come learn how decisions get made in the UM governance structure; hear about successful student-led campaigns; and join the Q&A to get answers specific to your advocacy goals.
We hope to see you there!

Student Affairs – Leaders in cultivating exceptional student experiences!
The University of Manitoba campuses and research spaces are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak, Anisininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Dene and Inuit, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
UM recognizes that the Treaties signed on these lands are a lifelong, enduring relationship, and we are dedicated to upholding their spirit and intent. We acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past and the present. With this understanding, we commit to supporting Indigenous excellence through active Reconciliation, meaningful change, and the creation of an environment where everyone can thrive. Our collaboration with Indigenous communities is grounded in respect and reciprocity and this guides how we move forward as an institution.
