The February edition of the CEL Newsletter brings you some exciting Social Justice Hub events coming up this month. We will keep this one short and sweet, and give you a chance to read through some awesome work SJH has been doing!

Special event announcement! The Social Justice Hub presents: Pathways for Institutional Change at the UM with Vice-Provost (Equity) Tina Chen and Vice-Provost (Students) Laurie Schnarr. February 27th from 1-2:30pm Room 108, Drake Centre

* Students leading change must navigate a daunting institutional landscape, often learning through trial and error which figures on campus make decisions about what in order to see their campaigns succeed. Students, come participate in this wayfinding session to learn from the Vice-Provosts about which avenues exist within the university to transform the institution and what paths students have taken in the past to make real changes at the UM.

"For January’s event in particular, the hub brought local community organizations that are working on the issue of migrant justice organizing so that students could learn from them and get involved. Unger added that these organizations can also learn directly from students about the challenges emerging in an increasingly anti-migrant political climate."
