The Faculty of Medicinehttps://www.uottawa.ca/faculty-medicine/ at the University of Ottawahttps://www.uottawa.ca/en invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the School of Epidemiology and Public Healthhttps://www.uottawa.ca/faculty-medicine/epidemiology (i.e. SEPH). The University of Ottawa is one of Canada’s leading research-intensive universities with over $340 million in annual research funding. The University is located on the unceded territory of the Anishinaabe-Algonquin people, at the heart of Ottawa’s health research and education campus. Together, with its affiliated research units, the Faculty of Medicine has consistently ranked among the top Faculties of Medicine in Canada for research impact and intensity.
In response to recent retirements and program expansion, SEPH is seeking to recruit four tenure-track professors at the rank of Assistant Professor (other ranks may be considered). Across the positions we are seeking to augment capacity in the following priority areas:
* Methodological: biostatistics, mixed methods, qualitative methods, trials, heath evaluation/health economics. * Content Areas: interventional designs, public health, global health, health policy, implementation science.
SEPH is a vibrant interdisciplinary environment with research and teaching foci in multiple health-related fields. It is comprised of over 150 primary-, cross-, and adjunct-appointed faculty. SEPH provides outstanding and robust training opportunities in research (MSc and PhD) and public health (MPH and Public Health and Preventive Medicine postgraduate medical training). NEW beginning with our September 2025 cohort, a major modification of its graduate program will be implemented. The MSc and PhD degree name will change to Epidemiology and Applied Health Research. For our Masters Students, they may choose from one of six research concentrations: Clinical Research, Epidemiology, Global Health Research Health Policy Research, Health Technology Assessment, and Implementation Science. The PhD degree will continue to offer its popular Independent Study Plan strategy. The MPH program offers one of three concentrations Health Policy, Global Health, and Public Health Practice.
We invite interested parties to apply and join the SEPH team by following directions provided in the link below. Application packages sent directly to the SEPH Director or the SEPH office cannot be accepted. Dossiers will be reviewed beginning May 7, 2025.
