by MMI Email 02 Dec '25

02 Dec '25
Sent on behalf of Roland Lavallée, Chair, MMI Working Group, Department of Physical Therapy, University of Manitoba. Dear MPT Students: The Department of Physical Therapy at the College of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Manitoba is preparing for the selection process for students entering the MPT program in August 2026. The MPT Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) is scheduled to take place virtually on Saturday, February 28th, 2026, and virtually on Sunday, March 1st, 2026. We are looking for your assistance on one of these dates. The MPT MMI requires student volunteers to act as interviewers, back up interviewers and assistants in the CLSF. Participating in the MMI will be one of your first opportunities to begin expanding your professional portfolio. The following information may assist you in your decision to participate in this activity: * There is a minimum of 7 hours required on the MMI day. * Interview days are expected to run from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. * Volunteer training is required in order to participate. * Reliable internet service is needed in order to participate. * If you or a first order relative plan to apply to any educational program that uses the MMI, please do not volunteer for this activity. * If you are considering applying to any healthcare education program (Medicine, Physician Assistant) please do not volunteer for this activity. Volunteer Training: All student volunteers must attend an MMI interviewer training session on Monday, February 2, 2026 (12:00 noon - 1:00 pm, in-person in R110). Attendance is required at this training session to ensure reliable standardization for the interview. All student interviewers must also attend a virtual Equity, Access, and Participation training session on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 (6:30 pm - 7:30 pm on Teams). Volunteer Registration: An MS Form is being used to facilitate the volunteer recruitment process. If you are willing to help out, please use the link or QR code below and complete the sign-up survey. https://forms.office.com/r/V59nK2thk9 [cid:image001.png@01DC6369.F5F37000] We would appreciate all responses back before Monday, December 15, 2025. If you have any questions about this information, contact mmi(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:mmi@umanitoba.ca>. Please hold the dates that you have volunteered for, and we will confirm your participation in January 2026. We appreciate your willingness to volunteer and your support is greatly appreciated. Due to the limited volunteer spots, not all student volunteers will be called to interview or to participate in our support teams. We thank you in advance for contacting us. Thank you for your attention to this request. Sincerely, Roland Lavallée Chair, MMI Working Group
