Sent on Behalf of Liz Harvey:
Dear MPT2 students and recent graduates,
The University of Manitoba Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) program is currently undergoing curriculum renewal. Through curriculum changes, our goal is to better meet the evolving health needs of the community, align with the calls for Truth and Reconciliation, and support learner needs. We are seeking input from diverse parties who share an interest in these curriculum changes, including students, clinicians, patients, employers, and health administrators.
We are looking for individuals willing to participate in a 1-hour focus group discussing the skills and attributes new physiotherapy graduates need to succeed, the ongoing role physiotherapists play in meeting community health needs, and any current gaps that must be addressed to better equip future practitioners. Participants will receive a small honorarium in recognition of their expertise in the area. Food will also be available during the focus group.
The focus group will take place on August 21st, 2026, beginning at 1:00 pm in room R212. If you are interested in participating in the focus group or have any questions, please reach out to Aisley Haas (research assistant) at haasa@myumanitoba.ca.mailto:haasa@myumanitoba.ca Please respond by August 14th, 2026.
Thank you for considering helping guide our training of future physiotherapists.
Kind regards,
Curriculum Renewal Project Team
