Dear MPT1,
You may recall me mentioning in those first heady days of the program a volunteer opportunity as student rep to the College of Physiotherapists of Manitoba. I am now calling for your applications for the position. Please read the attached brochure that explains the role (it's an opportunity for you to develop leadership skills and experience, participate in the governance of your profession and get to know a number of clinicians and administrators...and earn a line on your CV regarding evidence of leadership). Emma, the MPT2 rep, will be on the meetings so you will be in good company.
I received several expressions of interest from class members in the first week, so have created a selection process. If you are interested in this role, please send me your thoughts on the following topic: "What I can bring to the role of MPT1 student rep to CPM" This should not be more than one page double spaced. The deadline for this submission is this Fri Sep 27 at noon, which will give the CPM Registrar and me time to read your applications and make a decision that afternoon.
Thank you and all the best!
Sincerely, Mark
