Hello DH2 class! Listerine is wanting to give your class a presentation. Please see below as there will be 2 presentations, each 1 hour long. Please discuss a few times and dates that you can all participate. She is available days and evenings. Once you have a few dates please send them to myself! In Part 1 of this course, we review the Health Canada findings on oral health of Canadians and drivers for behaviour change, discuss the oral health benefits of adding a therapeutic mouthwash to a brushing and flossing routine, as well as go over a comparative review of the ingredients and efficacy of commercial and prescription mouthrinses. In Part 2, we review the oral-systemic link, discuss the science and studies supporting the benefits of pre-procedural rinsing and strategies to implement into daily practice, the safety and tolerability of LISTERINE® and the role of alcohol in commercial mouthrinses. With both presentations we also discuss the LISTERINE® Product line-up, and samples for both the students as well as the dental clinic are sent out prior to the presentation. Continuing Education Certificates are also available for attending faculty. Good afternoon DH2, I received a question from one of your classmates and wanted to share my response with all of you to ensure everyone has the same information. The question was about whether you need to memorize the specific types of bacteria discussed in our recent class on "Oral Biofilms." While I don't expect you to memorize all the bacteria shown in the image on slide 52 (which I've also attached for your reference), it is important to familiarize yourselves with the key bacterial species we covered - particularly those that dominate in tissue- versus tooth-associated biofilms, as well as the early colonizers. As Prof. Yerex and I work to finalize the mentor pairings for the upcoming year, we are looking to see if someone would be willing to be paired with a mentor who practices in Stonewall, MB? The mentor is willing to come to the city for any in-person meetings, but you would be required to travel to Stonewall for your in-office observation next term. Stonewall is located about 25 km north of Winnipeg, so if you live in the North part of the city, this location may be closer than some offices within the city limits. Please bring your short white lab coat with you to the ceremony; be sure to have it unbuttoned and prepared to have it donned on you. You will be called onto the stage by the Dean and a Faculty member will donning your white coat on you and you will then button it up on your own.
