Updates from Clinic Forum
Hello DH3,
I have some updates following clinic Forum on Wednesday that I thought would be helpful to send directly.
Regarding Charts in Review:
* Sabrina did confirm that Charts in Review are in a holding pattern and cannot be dispositioned. Continue to check to see if the chart review is resolved but you won't be able to disposition them until the Chart Review is completed.
Recall Exam Charges:
* Please see guidance from Dr. Reeve below:
We have 3 main treatment codes for adult dental exams. 1. 01201 - comprehensive tx plan - new patient exam or when a recall exam has not been completed within the last 24 mos 2. 01202 - recall exam - exam for patients of record - every 12 mos but no greater than 23 mos otherwise it should be coded as 01201 3. 01202U - recall exam no charge. Sometimes patients will have a comprehensive exam or recall exam completed in Term 2 of one academic year and then they are assigned to a different dental student in Term 1 of the next academic year. In this type of situation the new student must update the treatment plan and because the exam has already been done within a 12mos period then we do a recall exam no charge.
All exams procedure codes are entered at the time the exam is completed and are charged accordingly.
* Going forward, please advise your patients that there is a fee associated with an exam.
