First of all always backup your data before doing dangerous things such as renaming variables.
That is simple. The first sugestion is to use EpiData entry tools menu... there is something like rename fields(my menus are in portuguese) ... this may help.
Another solution is to export two splits of the dataset to stata, one containing the first the datebase but without the second datebase and a second dataset with only the unique identifier and the second datebase. Later, already with stata, you may rename the varibles and merge the two datasets side by side with the unique identifier.

Hi! I have had 2 date related vaiables called "datebase1" and "datebase2" in EpiData. When exported them into STATA, they are showing as "datebase" and "datebase" and both variables contain the same value now which is not correct.
It might be due to the total number of characters for the variable name, but my question is how can I fix it?
