Thank you for your effort. Sometimes I use Stata format as an intermediate as Stata datasets contains all the data dictionary. However, for data management within clinical research (such as checking for duplicates, NAs fields, inconsistencies and so on) doing repetitive procedures manually is not that effective.
Have you ever thought to share this development effort with the R core team? The R guys which developed and maintain the foreign package?
