This is a known problem of Epidata Entry
You have to edit the chk file directly instead of using the "add/revise" semiautomatic feature.
Use open in the files menu and change the file dialog box to chk files.
Other commands can be truncated as well - I cannot remember all, but one other issue is in key unique and some aspects of relate.

Hello Everyone,
I have encountered backup command truncation isuue. I am using the following commands for backup,
AFTER FILE BACKUP C:\research\CD\Epidata\backup\epi ENCRYPT filenameXXX PASSCODEXXX [TODAY] END
This code works perfectly when I am using it. Once I close the program and reopen, it is truncated to,
AFTER FILE BACKUP C:\research\CD\Epidata\backup\epi END
I will appriciate your thoughts and help on this issue.
Thank you.
