This problem will occure in every place where user's don't have admin privilege. The (micrososft) recommended procedure is to put the executable in program file and only executable (wich include dll's) and all other data in the "documents and settings" folder. This mean that INI file wich is a setting file should also be in this folder. But if everybody agree whit that, I suppose that the program should be modified.

Yes, we've come across the same problem this week, also happens when you try to exit the browse window. It only happens on those computers in the office without admin privileges.

I've set up a data entry routine at one of the office computers. A colleague ran into these error messages:
when trying to run documentation->codebook
Cannot create file file c:\program files~epdlog1.tmp
and when trying to exit (file->exit)
Error writing to .INI file c:\program files\epidata\epidata.ini
I'm guessing this would happen if the colleague does not have permission to write to the c:\program files directory. Does that sound right to others?
Thanks.
