Can Epidata fetch data from one or more database and add up the data in Epidata database?
No, not directly. However both Entry and Analysis support several datafile formats (including CSV files) . Perhaps extract data from the database first, then import into either Analysis or Entry.
Is Epidata safe for using in matters of social security numbers etc.?
It is - you can use encrypted fields in both Analysis and Entry. The data is encrypted using 256-bit AES encryption (so far the strongest known encryption algorithm). You can find an example on the website where the danish CPR (social security no.) is used within an encypted field.
