To add on Jens's suggestion, you could also give very short name to your variables without much description and fit all within required lines. Otherwise I would recommend relational rec.files (with full description of each var to avoid suffering at the data cleaning stage) and merge them at the end.

Hi Sam I adhere completely to Tieble's suggestion : I think the best way is to use relational rec.files. You have just to define one unique variable which will be the same for each rec.fies (using "key unique" in the chk.files). Regards

Hi,
The only problem with this solution is that I then cannot use the double entry method that compares responses as they are keyed in. As far as I know, it is not possible to do that with relational files.
