Hello, I'm in the process of learning how to use EpiData Analysis. I'm going through the instructions in the Tiramisu example. I've run into a problem. I'm trying to create the epicruve/histogram. The graph window (Editing Chart) is not showing up. I looked through comments on the [EpiData-list] and found a recommendation: insert (set graph edit=on) in the command line. I tried this but received this message (graph edit not supported). How do I turn on the (editing chart) window?
Thanks,
Sandy
In the Graph/Edit tab of any graph dialogue, you can check a box labelled "edit ..." In the different tabs you have pretty good control of everything you will need (titles, axes, etc).
As you learn more and type the commands in yourself, just add /edit to the end of a graphing command.

please notice that the Tiramisu example uses old syntax. This is why you had some problems. Solution as indicated by Jamie regards Jens Lauritsen On 03-08-2010 05:16, epidata-list@lists.umanitoba.ca wrote:

My problem is that the graph dialogue box does not appear. The only thing that appears is the graph itself. I was wondering how to access the graph dialogue box.

There are two ways to create graphs: 1. Via command line specifications in the command prompt, e.g. bar age /bw - would create a bar chart of age in black and white. - To edit the same with all options: bar age /bw /edit * which would open the complete grah dialogue box
2 Via the menu system/toolbar system, where each graph is a dialogue, which contains specifications in tab sheets.
3 If you look in the help file (press f1) quite many options are shown. More than in option 2 above.
Possibly you are not having the latest version of analysis. You get this from: http://www.epidata.dk and follow the download links.
With analysis you can also test if you have the latest version, when you are connected to internet. Then the command "version" - or the equivalent in the help menu, will compare with information on latest release.
If you have less than the latest release make sure to update. There is no automatic update - I think personally this is a nuisance.
