EpiData in resource limited settings?
Dear EpiData users, I have interest in assessing the impact of EpiData in terms of data documentation in lab. resource limited settings, specially in the area of HIV, Malaria and TB diagnosis.
My focus is how to explore if the lab staff, with basic education background, can really use the EpiData, and manage to send the data by email?
I have education and work experience in relation to public health informatics, making the human/IT approach smoother, biomedicine and in data documentation.
I am looking for sites interested in such idea?
Thank you in advance and best regards! Ziad

I would say Epidata would work very well in that environment. I used to teach EpiInfo to beginning epi students. Because it is so simple to set up entry routines, they got it very quickly and were able to do small projects with little additional training. Indeed, EpiInfo was designed for the kind of field environment you describe. Epidata has carried on that tradition in the Windows environment far better than EpiInfo has.
