Please, does any body understand whether this ("market ID*100+shop ID") is a command or not? If it is a command, what exactly would it achieve or do? Thanks,

It it not an EpiData command, but looks like part of the syntax to create a single variable that identifies a particular shop:
msid = marketID*100 * shopID
Note - no spaces...
