iam un able to export my spread sheet to stata 11.0. I was only able to, when i converted to version 8 of stata though with some difficult. WHich type of variables ? how many: date, numerical, string ....
What type of problems with value labels ? - after export or local characters ?
Which operating system and version (copy version from menu). ?
What do you mean by "manipulate" ? - in Stata ?
Did you do a "compress" in Stata after reading the dta file ?

Before doing anything else, please update your program to the latest version (1.4.4.x) on the EpiData website.
There has been some changes in regards to the export system, especially with Stata.
