I need help in writing the command for the following function.
1 have 2 date fields. the difference between the dates can be less than 30 days also in some cases. How can I auto calculate the difference in days between the 2 dates.
Eg.
v01 11/11/2013
v02 20/11/2013
I want v03 to be automatically calculated as a difference between the 2 above dates.
Many thanks Charulatha

Dear Thambu
Are you familiar with the videos of Ajay M V Kumar teaching his course on using Epidata at Bangalore Medical College? These are available on youtube. They use the current version of Epidata though, not the new one. I agree it would be great to have a podcast on the new Epidata but I expect it might take a lot of time to do.
Warm regards
Christine Roseveare

Will be fixed with other small issues.
You can remedy this by: 1. export to csv 2. export to spss - and you then have data and labels etc for creation of system file in SPSS

Hi Charulatha,
Assuming the field v01 appears before v02, in the CHK file type the following:
v02 AFTER ENTRY LET agedays=v02-v01 END END
agedays NOENTER END
The field agedays is a calculated field and needs to be added to your QES file.
I hope this helps.
