Appointment of Dr. Christine Doucette as Director of Grant Development (CIHR)

All the best, Dorothy Dorothy Miller Executive Assistant to Dr. Govender Interim Head, Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine Dear Members of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Christine Doucette as Director of Grant Development (CIHR) for the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Dr. Christine Doucette is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology and Pathophysiology, Max Rady College of Medicine, and a Principal Investigator within the DREAM Research Theme at the Children's Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba (CHRIM). She leads an internationally recognized, CIHR- and NSERC-funded research program in metabolic and endocrine physiology, with a focus on pancreatic islet biology, diabetes, and the earliest physiological origins of metabolic disease. Dr. Doucette brings extensive experience in peer review through service on numerous national and international grant review panels, including CIHR, Diabetes Canada, Diabetes UK and the CIHR-Netherlands Research Consortium. She currently serves as Chair of the CIHR Diabetes, Obesity and Lipids Peer Review Committee and has extensive experience mentoring investigators in grant development, peer review, and research funding. In her role as Director of Grant Development (CIHR), Dr. Doucette will provide strategic guidance and support to faculty members across the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, with the goal of strengthening the competitiveness, clarity, and overall impact of CIHR applications. I would also like to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Jim Nagy and Dr. Lorrie Kirshenbaum for their dedicated service and valuable contributions to strengthening research funding success within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Invitation to Participate in Survey on Pain Management for Patients with Opioid Use Disorder

All the best, Dorothy Dorothy Miller Executive Assistant to Dr. Govender Interim Head, Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative and Pain Medicine We invite you to participate in a survey that is being led by Sara Mojdehi, MD student at McMaster University under the supervision of Dr. Kimberly Lewis, MD, Critical Care Physician and Dr. Harsha Shanthanna, MD, Anesthesiologist and Pain Physician. The aim of this study is to better understand current clinical practices, challenges, and decision-making processes when managing perioperative or critically ill adult patients who have OUD. Your insights will help identify practice patterns and inform future recommendations to support evidence-based, patient-centred care. The survey should take approximately 6 minutes to complete, and participation is entirely voluntary and anonymous.
