Dear CAHRI representatives,
I hope you had a lovely summer and will have the chance to enjoy a few additional days before the start of classes next week. Here are some elements related to the institutional set up for CAHRI, mentioned in the last minutes (May 2021 meeting) so you can follow up. Please note that Dr. Shannonbrooke Murphy will be Acting Director of the AHRC (St. Thomas University) over the next year while Christina Szurlej is on sabbatical so send your updates for the CAHRI webpagehttps://wp.stu.ca/ahrc/association-of-canadian-human-rights-institutes/ to her at sbmurphy@stu.camailto:sbmurphy@stu.ca. Welcome and thank you in advance, Shannonbrooke!
1. Each member should identify one representative. This person will appear as the contact for the institution in the CAHRI webpage. 2. Each member can promote initiatives (programmes, courses, competitions, publications, etc.) on the CAHRI webpage. 3. Each member can use the listserv (write to hr-research-centres@lists.umanitoba.camailto:hr-research-centres@lists.umanitoba.ca) to share information about research initiatives, events and advocacy actions, etc.
Lastly, just a reminder that if you know of other academic groups that could be a part of CAHRI, you can send me suggestions to vfernand@uottawa.camailto:vfernand@uottawa.ca . Very best wishes for a good academic year 2021-22,
Viviana
