I'm addressing you just to draw your attention to three elements of the next Canadian Yearbook of Human Rights (Volume IV, 2022-2023, to be published in summer 2024):

* The Call for submissions for the peer-reviewed General Section has been extended to 31 October 2023 : https://www.uottawa.ca/research-innovation/hrrec/news/call-papers-canadian-y... These can address any issue of human rights in or relating (somehow) to Canada or Canada in the world. * If you have suggestions for important or difficult to find documentation arising to events/activities in the 2022-2023 period (i.e. inclusive the 24-month period), please let us know: chry@uottawa.camailto:chry@uottawa.ca * I am pleased to inform you that we will publish Special Sections addressing: 1) racial profiling in Quebec (arising from the Luamba decision [Luamba c. Procureur général du Québec, 2022 QCCS 3866, https://canlii.ca/t/jsmj7]) and, 2) freedom of movement and access to transportation for isolated (mainly indigenous) communities in Western Canada. But we have received an interesting proposal for a third Special Section which would engage CAHRI Member institutions to address Canada's human rights foreign policy and related engagements. Specifically, in the light of calls for (and already ongoing) re-thinking and proper FP elaboration together with institutional support, it is timely to feed ideas into prospective policy. To this end, there is a proposal for CAHRI to hold a consultation and share views, including by means of a compilation of inputs/suggestions as part of a CYHR Special Section. My question to you is: Would you (or someone from your institution) be interested to contribute/participate in a consultation (i.e. to identify and discuss core ideas and principal elements) and, if so, prospectively to contribute a short paper (3-4,000 word) for publication? I would be grateful to receive your responses by Monday, 11 September. Thanks in advance.
