Tomorrow's live on-line debate of whether or not China's treatment of the Uyghurs constitutes genocide
Dear all,
I take the liberty to draw to your attention that tomorrow (6 July 2021) I will debate 'live' on-line Professor William Schabas (renowned legal scholar and specialist on genocide) on the topic of whether or not the situation of Uyghurs in China constitutes genocide. I believe it does; he believes it does not. Of course, people of sincere intention may reasonably disagree. The debate will be introduced by the Executive Director of the Stop Uyghur Genocide Campaign who will explain why the debate matters.
You may register for the debate here: https://www.renecassin.org/event/uyghur-repression-systematic-brutal-but-is-...
Especially in the light of discussions across our own country about past or ongoing genocides, this debate may hold interest.
Please disseminate widely the notice.
Best regards, John Packer
