Subject: Possible opportunity for last year's nutrition internship graduates?
Caution! This message was sent from outside the University of Manitoba.
Hi …
[View More]there,
I wasn't sure if you had any graduates from your previous years' nutrition and dietetics internship that didn't have a job yet, or anyone that was trying to find a way into BC. If so, do you think you could forward this to the group? It might even be up for next year's grads, if anyone was looking to come out here. I've been as inventive as I can, but I really just need one more RD with me onsite!
Title: BC Cancer Prince George Clinical Dietitian - $23,000-35,000 incentives
We've had some post pandemic healthcare worker shortage that have led to some fairly dire short staffing, even in Prince George, BC. I have been working as the sole RD on the ground at BC Cancer Prince George for a year now (we now have one virtual staff member as well). We direly need just one more onsite practitioner.
There is a full time, permanent posting for our site. There is a $20,000-30,000 signing bonus (for anyone who hasn't worked for HEABC in the past 12 months) and a moving bonus of $3000-5000.

This is an outpatient role with more acuity than community care. We are invested in training a new employee from the ground up, if needed.
I really do think we have a ton to offer. In my opinion, this is possibly the best clinical dietitian job in the north.
* Prince George is a gateway to the north and benefits from a little more tourist economy (restaurants, shopping) than many other northern hubs across Canada. It has a nice growing season, affordable living, and access to mountains, trails, lakes, waterfalls, and camping.
* Our main patient group is curative intent, has high incentive to use nutrition intervention, and has continuity of care with their dietitian for about 3 months.
* We have an excellent team at BC Cancer Prince George. The medical team is very collaborative and respectful. You can tell daily that everyone is trying to deliver excellent patient outcomes and a high standard of care. Our broader team at the centre is very friendly and kind. I love this job because the coworkers are absolute gems.
* We also have a robust dietitian group both in Prince George through Northern Health and through our other BC Cancer sites for any newcomers to the community and to practice.
We also have some nice perks, such as staff patio with propane BBQ, rooftop community garden, and engagement committee activities for centre staff (treats, centre activities, etc).
Maybe this is a great opportunity for a new grad or someone looking to come out to BC!
