Hi Med 1's and 2's, This Friday, a Walking Together: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event will be held in Brodie Atrium starting at 11:00. We would like to allow time for and encourage student participation in this event and have made changes to your schedule on Friday, September 26 to open up the 11:00-13:00 block. These changes came with the full support of your course leaders and instructors. * For Med 1, a tutorial has been moved earlier and will be delivered as an interactive whole group session. * For Med 2, we have moved a lecture into next week. The following email is being sent to you on behalf of Student Support: Dear Class of 2028 and 2029, As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen student mental health supports, Student Support, UGME Student Affairs, and Doctors Manitoba are pleased to share an opportunity for input on the Peer Support Training Pilot Project Workshop. This workshop aims to equip medical learners with the skills to provide informal peer support to classmates experiencing personal or professional challenges, as well as the knowledge of when and how to connect peers with additional resources. To help shape this initiative, Student Services has created a short survey to collect student feedback. Reminder: 1. NO CELLPHONES ALLOWED IN THE EXAM ROOM * Someone had a phone in the room, and it was dinging. This is against the University exam policy as well as UGME's exam policy. You have been told to leave everything in your lockers and this includes cell phones. * If this was someone's laptop or tablet that was dinging, make sure you turn off all notifications before the exam. You are disturbing the students around you. We don't want to accuse you of having a cell phone if you don't' have one. 1. You must enter the exam room from the second floor doors AFTER you sign in. Do not come in through the first floor doors. Give yourself enough time to go upstairs. I have told the invigilators to send people upstairs if they come in the bottom doors.. There are also signs on the doors that say this.
