Student Services at Bannatyne Campus (SSBC) is offering a free ADHD Information & Support Group for learners of the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and the Inner-City Social Work program.

WHEN AND WHERE?
* Dates: Six weeks/sessions * Tuesday, October 14, 2025 * Tuesday, October 28, 2025 * Tuesday, November 18, 2025 * Tuesday, November 25, 2025 * Tuesday, December 2, 2025 * Tuesday, December 9, 2025 * Time: 4:00 - 6:00 pm (two hours) * Location: In-person @ Bannatyne Campus
WHAT IS ADHD?
ADHD is a highly heritable neurodevelopmental disorder that affects approximately 5% of adults across all genders, ethnicities, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Adults with ADHD often experience barriers in post-secondary institutions due to differences in how they process information creating challenges in areas such as: task initiation, focus, time management, working memory, impulse control, and emotional regulation.
While neurodivergence can make academia more challenging, people with ADHD often have unique traits that add value such as creative and innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, the ability to hold multiple perspectives at once, and the ability to maintain a high level of focus and dedication on the subjects they are passionate about.
WHAT WILL IT BE LIKE?
The group is participatory and facilitated by Jen Porter/SSBC Counsellor. Each of the six sessions will involve a check-in, a brief presentation, and facilitated discussion.
WHO CAN REGISTER?
This group is for Rady Faculty of Health Sciences and Inner-City Social Work learners who may identify as having ADHD, or experience challenges related to task initiation, focus, emotional regulation, time management, and organization in areas of personal and academic life.
The ADHD Information and Support Group is also for learners who are interested in connecting with and learning from their peers, reflecting on their own experiences, and actively trying out new tools and strategies.
Please note: Participating in this group will not provide learners with an ADHD assessment or diagnosis.
REGISTRATION:
