Incoming Med 1 students - Financial Literacy Session (Zoom)

Congratulations on your offer of admission and welcome to the Max Rady College of Medicine! While this is a very exciting time for you, we know it may be stressful to consider the financial cost of a medical education. Aside from tuition costs, there will be the added cost of electives and residency interviews along with the cost of housing, groceries, and transportation expenses to name a few.
We are here to help. Our goal is to provide you with the knowledge and tools to manage your personal finances during your 4 years at the Max Rady College of Medicine.
The College of Medicine is offering a 1-hour financial information session for you and your family. We will review the cost of medical education and discuss bursaries, student loans, bank lines of credit, and disability insurance.
The information session will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This session will be conducted virtually through Zoom. Sign-in information will be sent to you by email once your session is confirmed.
This session is not mandatory, but we strongly encourage you and your family to attend. There will be ample time for questions at the end of the session.
We ask you to sign up for the session by contacting Jen Mair, Program Coordinator for UGME Awards at AwardsUGME@umanitoba.ca mailto:AwardsUGME@umanitoba.ca
Please include your first and last name as well as your student # when signing up for a session.
Sincerely,
