Dear Colleagues,
I am writing on behalf of my colleague, Robert Beattie, who has initiated a letter campaign advocating for increased research funding in Manitoba. As an organization, MNN fully endorses this initiative and encourages all members to add their support by signing the letter through the form linked below.
Best regards, Tabrez Siddiqui
Hello Everyone,
I hope you’re all enjoying a restful weekend. I’m writing to bring an important initiative to your attention.
Several colleagues and I have drafted a letter to the province requesting the restoration of funding to Research Manitoba. This follows Premier Kinew’s announcement on Fridayhttps://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-welcome-scientists-unitedstates-1.7496426 https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/manitoba-welcome-scientists-unitedstates-1.7496426 regarding efforts to recruit American researchers. While it’s encouraging to see recruitment prioritized, the absence of a corresponding budget increase is concerning.
We began collecting signatures this morning and would greatly appreciate your support. We would also welcome any feedback you may have on the letter, and please feel free to share it with others who may be interested.
You can view and sign the letter here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/12XfLtlcIaKalvX0Bcm6Cv9GuGM5DcfscRviKEPJE...
Thanks so much for your consideration and have a wonderful Sunday!
Warm regards, Robert
