Join Us in Supporting Agape Table: Winter & Hygiene Donation Drive (Oct 9–31)

Dear Nursing Students,
We are Year 4 nursing students currently completing our community clinical at Agape Table in the Spence neighborhood. Agape Table is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to reducing food insecurity and supporting marginalized individuals and families through its free bagged lunch and food bank programs. According to the 2021 Census, 36.6% of residents in the Spence neighborhood live on a low income, compared to the Winnipeg average of 11.5%. Since the pandemic, the need for food assistance has increased significantly, and Agape Table now serves approximately 900 meals each weekday (0700–1100) to community members in need.
As winter approaches, many guests who socialize outdoors after receiving their meals face additional challenges in the cold. To help meet their needs, we are organizing a Winter and Hygiene Essentials Donation to support them with dignity and compassion.
We are collecting the following items: winter jackets, boots, toques, mitts, socks, duvets, blankets, body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, menstrual care products, and hairbrushes. The donation drive will run from October 9th - 31st with two donation bins (one for winter essentials and one for hygiene essentials) located outside the NSA office on the main floor of Helen Glass. If you have any questions, please contact Felix at nnejif@myumanitoba.ca
Thank you for your generosity and support. Let’s spread love and help warm up our community this winter.
Special thanks to: Nursing Student Association, Christa Degagne RN, BN, MEd, Shannon Guerreiro RN, MN, and Laurie Romanica RN, BN.
