Hello Nursing Students,

We are looking for 6 nursing student volunteers to help with Take Our Kids to Work Day (TOKWD) on Wednesday, November 04, 2026 from 0915 – 1000 AM.

We will be hosting Grade 9 students who will be visiting the College of Nursing to learn about nursing and experience some of our skills and simulation activities. Volunteers will be there to help answer questions, assist kids with skills such as using stethoscopes, locating pulses for blood pressure, and helping with VR simulations and making sure they have a fun and safe experience. Volunteer hours will also count towards Peer Mentorship Program hours. Volunteer positions available: 2 Escorts 2 Mentors (HG 496) – Skills Lab 2 Mentors (HG 390) – VR Simulation If you’re interested in volunteering, please email Maria (doriamd@myumanitoba.camailto:doriamd@myumanitoba.ca) and let me know which position you would like before October 12, 2026. This is also a great opportunity to share your experience as a nursing student and help introduce younger students to nursing!
