Invitation to Become a Health Care Volunteer at the 35th Teddy Bears’ Picnic
Hi everyone! Please see the below information forwarded from the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
Hello,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Teresa Clifton, and I am a staff member with the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
I am thrilled to share the exciting news that the Children’s Hospital Foundation’s in-person Teddy Bears’ Picnic is returning to Assiniboine Park on September 8, 2024. After having 2 years of virtual events due to the challenges posed by the pandemic, we are excited to celebrate the 35th year with an in-person gathering.
We would be honored to have you as part of this special day by being a health care volunteer at Assiniboine Park. Your participation would contribute significantly to the success of the event in assisting with bear exams, surgery, casting, admitting and more.
A bit of history of the Teddy Bears’ Picnic, for the past 33 years, the Teddy Bears’ Picnic has been a cherished annual event organized by a dedicated team of volunteers and has welcomed an audience of over 30,000 families and their children. Its purpose is to provide a joyous family day while raising awareness about the experiences of sick and injured children at the hospital and in the Children’s Hospital Research Institute areas.
As a health care volunteer, you will get to experience the exciting activities that include the Dr. Goodbear tent, offering medical tests, MRI’s, X-Rays, and more for children, teddy bears, and families. We also have the "I want to be a Scientist" tent, designed to engage children in science-based activities, fostering imagination and curiosity.
If you are interested, please fill out the formhttps://forms.gle/RZDddNMKt8U3aR4h9 linked here or scan the QRC that is located on the poster. Volunteer shifts will be from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Thank you for considering this opportunity. We look forward to potentially having your delicious offerings at the 35th Teddy Bears’ Picnic and be part of a Manitoba tradition.
Best regards,
Teresa Clifton
