Translating Emergency Knowledge for Kids (TREKK) is a national knowledge mobilization network dedicated to improving pediatric emergency care by co-creating evidence-informed tools and resources with healthcare providers and families. With a focus on supporting care in general emergency settings, where the majority of acutely ill and injured children in Canada are first treated, TREKK bridges the gap between the latest pediatric research and frontline clinical practice. This presentation highlights the key roles nurses play in TREKK’s efforts to develop, translate, and disseminate evidence-based resources for both healthcare providers and families. Nurses contribute at every stage of the process—from identifying knowledge gaps and co-developing tools, to leading implementation strategies and engaging with local teams. Their leadership ensures that TREKK’s resources are practical, accessible, and responsive to the real-world needs of both healthcare professionals and families. The presentation will offer insights into how TREKK’s collaborative model, which includes interdisciplinary teams and family/youth partners, supports equitable access to high-quality pediatric emergency care resources across diverse geographic and clinical settings. Learn how nurses are shaping the future of pediatric emergency knowledge translation, and how their expertise is helping to improve pediatric emergency care across Canada.
