Hello Faculty and Staff,
I am sending this memo as FYI. An off-campus incident occurred with students on a Winnipeg transit bus en route to clinical this morning. Leadership was notified and present with students after the incident, police were notified and a report was made. We are in communication with all students and those directly affected. We will continue to support students to ensure their well-being. Because this was an off-campus incident, it is under the jurisdiction of the Winnipeg Police, but UM security were alerted. Please continue to be vigilant with your surroundings and reporting incidences that are of concern. Many thanks, Kellie Thiessen, RM, RN, PhD Dean, Associate Professor College of Nursing, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences University of Manitoba Helen Glass Centre for Nursing 89 Curry Place, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 2N2 Clinician Scientist, Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba
