I’m passing along news of a promising OER training opportunity. For those who haven’t heard, Campus Manitoba is aiming to pull together a Manitoba-based cohort for the Rebus Textbook Success Program. Participants should be individuals or teams currently working on specific OER projects. The program would begin in November.
The professional development program is one year long, and would include 9 to 12 weeks of weekly meetings, followed by monthly meetings.
Details on the program can be found here: https://rebus.community/textbook-success-program/
Cost is $4000 per OER project, and allows participation for all members of the team.
You can contact Carley McDougall (mcdougallc(a)campusmanitoba.ca<mailto:mcdougallc@campusmanitoba.ca>) for more information. If you’re interested in the opportunity, please let me know as well, and I can look into the possibility of the OER grant program supporting the registration costs.

Hello all,
We will be having our inaugural meeting of the OER group on Tuesday, September 26th from 9-10 am in the Icelandic Board Room on the 3rd floor of the Dafoe Library, beside the Archives.
(One person indicated that they are not free until 9:15 am on the poll. It is fine to arrive late.)
At this initial meeting, we will:
* Introduce each other and our interest in OERs
* Make suggestions for things to read and discuss this semester
* Discuss who is interested in writing accountability sessions
* Determine whether to meet once or twice a month (if twice a month, one meeting would likely be a writing accountability session, and could be for just a subset of us).
* Discuss the OER grants and the OER lab at UM
If you cannot make it, feel free to send me your suggestions/preferences in advance of our first meeting.
Looking forward to meeting you!
Julie

Hello all!
Thank you once again for your interest in the OER group. Now that summer is over, I thought it would be a good time to try again to set up regular meetings.
Please fill out this When2Meet Poll by Friday September 15 to indicate your availability. Let's go with availability to meet in person at Fort Garry campus for now, but if that's not possible for you, please send me a email to let me know and we can meet on zoom.

If you haven't used a when2meet poll before, you sign in on the left. A chart of the possible times will pop up, and you drag and select the times you are available.
OPTIONAL: If you would like to give feedback on what we should read/do at our meetings, the google survey I created this summer is still available!
