As you may recall from recent ORS/VPR emails, Mitacs has a call for proposals open for Canadian Science Policy Fellowshipshttp://www.mitacs.ca/en/programs/policy-fellowship/about, 1-year fully-funded appointments to a Canadian government agency. These are part of the government's initiative for informed policy making and/or to identify potential new employees from the academic community. They are open to:
- Faculty seeking a 1 year Sabbatical (coming up this fall)
- PhDs approximately 5 years post-graduation, i.e.:
o PhD students about to graduate
o Recent alumni
o Exceptional Masters graduate students can be considered I wanted to let you know that the deadline for select projects has been extended to Sunday April 9th 2017 11:59 p.m. PDT. With this in mind, I would like your assistance in spreading the word to your faculty, soon-to-graduate PhD students, and recent alumni encouraging proposal submissions. Taking a quick scan of the available projects, I feel that the below may be of particular relevance to your colleagues in the Faculty of Agriculture:
