JSPS Post Doctoral Fellowship (Summer Program)
Open to: Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows that are either Canadian citizen or permanent resident
Project dates: mid-June to mid-August 2025
Destination: eligible academic institutions and research institutions in Japan
Funding: JSPS arranges round-trip airfare and insurance. Mitacs and JSPS provide an allowance for the student or postdoctoral fellow (equivalent to 534,000 yen in total). Host supervisors are eligible for a research support allowance.

Call for Visiting Research Fellows (Research Institute for Humanity and Nature)
The Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN), established in April 2001, is an inter-university research institute promoting comprehensive research in global environmental studies.
Open to: Ph.D. or equivalent qualification/experience OR researchers
Destination: The Research Institute for Humanity and Nature (RIHN) in Japan
Activity: Each Visiting Research Fellow works with a RIHN host researcher who acts as the main point of contact with the Institute. Applicants are advised to develop plans for research and activities during their stay at RIHN in consultation with the intended host researcher. In most cases, candidates will already have interacted with a potential host researcher prior to the application, but a list of potential hosts is shown on the application formhttps://www.chikyu.ac.jp/rihn/cms_upload/career/91/enApplicationGuidelinesFellowship2025(1).pdf.
Project date: The research period ranges from 2 months up to 6 months, within the fiscal year 2025 (June 1, 2025 to March 25, 2026).
