Attention graduate students!
We are currently in the process of interviewing candidates for a new assistant professor position in High Erucic Acid Rapeseed (HEAR), Canola and Brassica breeding to take over Dr. McVetty’s research program.
Graduate student input plays an important role in the selection of new faculty, so here is your chance to help shape future directions within the department.
In the following weeks there are meetings arranged for the top candidates to meet with the graduate students in room 218, Plant Science seminar room. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know the candidates and ask them questions about the direction they plan on taking their research through graduate student mentorship, teaching ability, extension work and other skills that they will bring to the department.
Plus there will be coffee and *doughnuts* (seriously, the _real_ deal. No peek freans).
So please come join your fellow grad students and the candidates at the following times:
*Dr. Muhammad Tahir, University of Manitoba*
*Tuesday, September 6 at 11:00am*
**
*Dr. Rob Duncan, Texas A&M University*
*Friday, September 9 at 10:00am*
**
*Dr. Md Mukhlesur Rahman, North Dakota State University*
*Thursday, September 15 at 11:30am*
Graduate student feedback from these meetings is not only supported but strongly encouraged.
