From: Doug Cattani Doug.Cattani@umanitoba.ca Sent: Tuesday, July 2, 2024 11:03 AM To: Bev Godard Bev.Godard@umanitoba.ca Subject: Fume hoods Clean-out Importance: High
We received the following message from EHSO and a citation from the Winnipeg Fire Department with respect to it:
"Please find the attached violation notice for Plant Science Building and advise lab users to remove all stored flammable liquids /dangerous goods from the fume hoods before July 19th, 2024. if the removal is completed prior to the deadline specified by the fire department, please inform me for re-inspection to avoid fines."
Please ensure that all fume hoods in the department are free of combustible materials, or any other materials that are not allowed to be stored in the fume hoods.
Fines will need to be paid by the PI's involved if the areas are not cleaned up. Please inform myself and Bev no later than July 12th, so that we can have a re-inspection in time to avoid the fines.
