On behalf of Dr. Soheila Karimi, Vice-Dean Graduate and Post-Doctoral Studies- Rady Faculty of Health Sciences Dear RFHS students, I am pleased to announce that the 2025/2026 Rady Faculty of Health Sciences Indigenous Graduate Fellowship Program is now open for applications. DEADLINE: February 24th, 2026 Eligibility: In years when funds are available, awards will be offered to graduate students who: 1. have self-declared as a First Nations, Métis, or Inuit person from Canada; 2. are enrolled part-time (priority) or full-time in a thesis-based Master’s or Doctoral program offered by a College in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba; Ph.D. students enrolled in the Applied Health Sciences program are eligible, provided they are supervised by a primary advisor whose primary appointment is within the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences; 3. have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0 based on the last 60 credit hours (or equivalent) of study; and, 4. if continuing students, are in good standing with the Faculty of Graduate Studies. *Applicants should use the following link to submit their application: Rady Faculty of Health Sciences Indigenous Graduate Fellowship Application 2025 - 2026 – Fill out form<https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/mMP6yz0dj5> **Advisors, co-advisors, and referees should use the form at the following link to submit their assessment letters and/or CIHR Biosketch Common CV: RFHS Indigenous Graduate Fellowship Application 2025-2026 - Supporting Documents – Fill out form<https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/aZHqyvEv8A> The Terms of Reference (TORs) is attached to this email. Would you like to meet other graduate students across the country who are passionate about science communication? Do you want to network with professionals to explore science communication in all its facets? This is your opportunity! ComSciCon is a series of workshops focused on enhancing communication skills and fostering an inclusive community that can effectively communicate scientific information to academic and non-academic audiences. Founded in 2013 by graduate students at Harvard University and MIT, ComSciCon has since supported over 2000 graduate students in developing the skills needed to communicate complex ideas in science, engineering, and other STEM+ fields to broader and more diverse audiences. ComSciConCAN offers this same training to empower the next generation of Canadian STEM+ leaders across the country. This year, ComSciCon Canada will host its National Workshop (ComSciConCAN<http://www.comsciconcanada.org/>) from June 19th to 21st, 2026, at the University of Waterloo. The conference is offered at a low cost for selected attendees to promote accessibility and participation. We are also excited to announce that Dr. Donna Strickland, Nobel Prize winning physicist, will be the keynote speaker at this year's event!
