From: UM Human Resources <HR(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:HR@umanitoba.ca>> Date: Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 9:09 AM To: all-employees(a)lists.umanitoba.ca<mailto:all-employees@lists.umanitoba.ca> <all-employees(a)lists.umanitoba.ca<mailto:all-employees@lists.umanitoba.ca>> Subject: Reminder: Complete your mandatory anti-racism by December 31, 2025 [cid:image001.png@01DC4CB5.D3F347C0] This message is being sent on behalf of Human Resources and Tina Chen, Vice-Provost (Equity) Dear Colleagues, As we approach the end of the calendar year, this message serves as an important reminder to complete the Government of Manitoba’s mandatory anti-racism training by December 31, 2025. All university employees including full-time and part-time faculty and staff are required to complete the Government of Manitoba’s annual anti-racism training, in accordance with provincial legislation. The foundational anti-racism course is available in UM Learn and takes approximately two to three hours to complete. The interactive course includes slides, videos, resources, and an optional self-reflection journal. Completion of this training is automatically recorded in VIP. Once employees complete this foundational course, they can fulfil the annual training requirement in future years by either repeating this course or completing the UM Continuing Anti-Racism Training plus self-reported completion of a UM anti-racism learning opportunity. Full details on this option will be communicated in early 2026. To take the course: * Log in to UM Learn<https://universityofmanitoba.desire2learn.com/d2l/home>. * Go to the Discover tab and search for MB Govt Ant-Racism Mandatory Training. * If you cannot find the course in Discover, click the hamburger menu (nine square dots at the top) to search for and access the course. * Complete the course by December 31, 2025. Next steps for supervisors: * Supervisors are asked to check the course completion of their team by accessing the course completion summary report in VIP. Instructions and screenshots are available on [docx icon] HR’s Intranet<https://umanitoba.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/um-intranet-vip-support/_layou…>. * Please follow up with team members who have not completed the mandatory training as soon as possible. Helpful resources: * Full information, including how to access the training module in UM Learn, is available on HR’s Intranet.<https://umanitoba.sharepoint.com/sites/um-intranet-hr-equity-diversity-and-…> * Introducing UM’s Anit-Racism Learning Framework<https://news.umanitoba.ca/what-spurs-you-to-help-dismantle-racism/> (UM Today) * Anti-racism at UM (Office of Equity Transformation website),<https://umanitoba.ca/equity-transformation/anti-racism> including the Anit-Racism Learning Framework Questions? * Review the guide on HR’s Intranet<https://umanitoba.sharepoint.com/sites/um-intranet-hr-equity-diversity-and-…>. * Email general or technical inquiries to: antiracism_training(a)umanitoba.ca<mailto:antiracism_training@umanitoba.ca> Thank you for your commitment to anti-racism at the University of Manitoba.
