Hello instructors from the Riddell Faculty, I hope you're doing well! I'm looking to update some of our promotional materials with new photos, including our website, print content, and digital screens. I recognize that the end of the term is drawing near, but I was wondering if there would be any opportunities for me to shadow any upcoming final lectures, presentations, and/or lab or field work? I'm looking to capture some moments between students and teaching staff, whether it be staged or live. If you know certain students in your class would prefer not to be photographed, no worries - shoot me a message and we can plan shots with specific students supplied with waivers, or we can put up signs to notify your class and alert people where shots will be taken. Please let me know if there would be any availability for me to join in over the next week or two. If it's not too early, I'm also open to coming in to take photos through Winter 2026 Term - feel free to message me and we can schedule something ahead of time. Thanks, and have a wonderful weekend! About the presenter: Gerardo (Gera) is a Faculty Specialist in the Office of Experiential Learning at The Centre for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. With a background in community engaged learning, travel programs, and classroom teaching, he supports faculties and instructors to integrate different types of experiential learning into courses and programs. Soft as Bones: A Journey Through Story, Survival, and Becoming In Soft as Bones, Cree and Métis author Chyana Marie Sage unearths the bones of her own story - one marked by intergenerational trauma, survival, and the radical act of healing through words. From growing up in the Prairies with a father entangled in the justice system to becoming the first ever Indigenous graduate from Columbia University's Creative Nonfiction program, Chyana's path is a testament to resilience, reclamation, and the transformative power of education and storytelling. In this talk, Chyana will read from her acclaimed debut memoir and reflect on her journey to publication - from the first drafts written in quiet defiance to the moment her story found a home with House of Anansi Press. She will also share how her academic and creative paths continue to intertwine in her current work with Indspire, where she amplifies Indigenous voices and stories across the country. The Economic and Social Impacts of Colonization and the Road Ahead: Big Data and its Role in Reconciliation and Resurgence Dr. Robert Gillezeau is an Assistant Professor of Economic Analysis and Policy at the University of Toronto. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Michigan, with research focused on the economic history of Indigenous peoples, labour economics, and public policy. Dr. Gillezeau is a fellow at the Broadbent Institute and co-director of the Canadian Economics Association's Indigenous Economics Study Group. His work bridges rigorous economic analysis with a commitment to equity, reconciliation, and systemic change.
