Hello,
My name is Veronica, and I am part of the marketing team for the Afro-Caribbean Mentorship Program (ACMP). I am reaching out to share details about our upcoming Black History Month event taking place on February 27th, 2026.
This event aims to spotlight the excellence, leadership, and enduring contributions of the Black African Diaspora community in Canada, recognizing achievements that continue to shape our present and future.
Event Details:
Date: February 27, 2026 Time: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM Venue: University of Winnipeg – 515 Portage Avenue
Keynote Speaker: His Excellency, The Honourable Gline Clarke, High Commissioner to Canada from Barbados
Catering will be provided by K&S Island Grill.
The evening will feature engaging panel discussions, a Black business showcase, dance performances, spoken word, and the distribution of book bursaries to several students.
By sharing this event with faculty, staff, and students, your department would be helping to amplify an opportunity for cultural celebration, academic dialogue, networking, and student support. We would greatly appreciate it if you could circulate the attached posters or forward this email to faculty, staff, and students within your department or network.
Additionally, we are currently seeking volunteers and would be grateful if you could help share that information as well.
