Dear Colleagues,

As you know, in 2027, the University of Manitoba will celebrate its 150th anniversary. This is an important milestone for our institution, and an exciting opportunity for us to celebrate together across the UM community.

Later this week, President Benarroch will invite all staff and faculty to mark their calendars and take part in this historic year. His message will include a link to the new UM150 website (which will go live very soon!), where you'll find an early list of programming, key dates, and contact information for the planning team should you have questions or ideas about how your area would like to get involved. For your convenience, a printable Save the Date page is also attached.

External Relations is leading the planning efforts for institution-wide events and initiatives throughout 2027. For those of you who have already booked one of our UM150 roadshow presentations...thank you! These sessions highlighted ways units can leverage institution-wide programming and "anniversarize" existing events and activities in meaningful and creative ways.

Now, I encourage all units to think boldly about how you can make UM150 your own. This is an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and strengthen pride and relationships across your teams, faculties and colleges, and communities.
