Horizon Europe as Seen from Canada: Maximizing Chances of Success
The Delegation of the European Union to Canada will be holding the webinar “Horizon Europe as Seen from Canada: Maximizing Chances of Success.” The webinar will guide Canadian researchers on how to effectively capitalize on opportunities within Horizon Europe, the EU’s key funding program for research and innovation.
Participants will hear expert perspectives on Horizon Europe, with opening and closing remarks from representatives of the European Union. The session will also highlight the support available to Canadian researchers and conclude with a dedicated Q&A, offering the opportunity to engage directly with program specialists.
Whether you're new to Horizon Europe or looking to strengthen future applications, this webinar will provide practical tools and guidance.

Advancing Climate Science - Cluster 5 Climate, Energy & Mobility Matchmaking Event
Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is hosting a virtual matchmaking event for climate science calls under the draft 2026 Cluster 5 work programhttps://ec.europa.eu/transparency/comitology-register/screen/documents/107811/3/consult?lang=en of Horizon Europe. This event will bring together researchers and innovators from Canada, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and New Zealand to forge new collaborations and share expertise in polar climate research. Topics will focus on advancing our understanding of a changing climate, with a particular focus on the high-latitude regions and their global impacts, including:
HORIZON-CL5-2026-07-D1-01: Next generation climate monitoring and related capabilities
HORIZON-CL5-2026-07-D1-02: Advancing European climate risk assessments
HORIZON-CL5-2026-07-D1-03: Economics of climate change and cost of inaction
HORIZON-CL5-2026-07-D1-06: Closing knowledge gaps on Earth system science in support of global and regional assessments and climate policy

Event Format:
The virtual matchmaking event will begin with an overview from each of the host nations, highlighting their key research priorities and capacities. The session will then break into dedicated virtual rooms for each call with an opportunity to provide a three-minute pitch to potential partners. Participants can present their projects and organization. Your pitch should clearly articulate your expertise and how you can contribute to a consortium for a specific call. Participating organizations are also welcome to observe.
If you plan to pitch, please indicate your preferred call, and include a 200-word summary of your pitch, and your contact information when you register. You may also submit one slide to support your pitch. Please submit your slide to horizoneurope@ised-isde.gc.camailto:horizoneurope@ised-isde.gc.ca by November 1.
