* 2027 NSERC Collaborative Research & Training Experience (CREATE) program: UM has a quota of two (2) applications in the 2027 competition. The schedule of the program is as follows: PHASE 1: Letter of Intent (non-competitive, as of 2024) Internal deadline: 13 April 2026 NSERC deadline: 1 May 2026, 4:00pm The LOI phase includes a Letter of Support from VPRI which must confirm University endorsement but need not include details of financial support. PHASE 2: Full application Internal deadline: 2 September 2026 NSERC deadline: 22 September 2026, 4:00pm NSERC Webinar English session: February 9, 2026, noon-1:30pm (Winnipeg time) French session: February 10, 2026, noon-1:30pm (Winnipeg time)
