Objectives
The NSERC Collaborative Research & Training Experience (CREATE) program supports the training and mentoring of graduate students from Canada and abroad, and, among many features, specifically encourages:

CREATE grants are valued at up to $1.65M over 6 years; 70% of the budget is allocated to student stipends.
Institutional Quota
The University of Manitoba has a quota of two (2) applications in the 2027 competition. All LOIs in the regular stream submitted to ORS will be forwarded to NSERC for adjudication; two will be chosen by NSERC and invited to submit a full application.
Potential applicants are invited to reach out to ORS in advance of the LOI deadline; we would be happy to meet to discuss their program plans.
Applications within the Quantum special call are outside of the quota; please contact me directly (Andrea.Craig@umanitoba.camailto:Andrea.Craig@umanitoba.ca) if you anticipate applying under this special call; details are expected to be shared by NSERC during the Webinar (details below).
