* Internal submission to ADR’s office must include a copy of the competed and signed FAAFhttps://umanitoba.sharepoint.com/sites/um-intranet-research-services/SitePages/funding-application-approval-form.aspx, a full version of the application, and Signature Page (signed by applicant). The ADR’s Office will forward the package to ORS.
Research Manitoba Deadline: March 2, 2026, 4:00pm CST
Type of Grant
* New Investigators must be within the first four years of their initial faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor (or equivalent) level in North America * Grants are capped at the following maximum amounts and terms for each category: * Health - $65,000 per year for 2 years * Natural Sciences and Engineering - $25,000 per year for 2 years * Social Sciences and Humanities - $20,000 per year for 2 years
Applications are evaluated in a competitive, peer-review process that considers the following criteria:
* Importance of the research problem and the information sought * Adequacy of the research design * Feasibility and promise of the methods proposed * Novelty or originality of the application * Training experience, productivity, and research competence of the investigator(s) * Suitability of facilities, including the availability of any special resources required * Appropriateness of the requested budget relative to the work proposed * Gender and Sex-Based Analysis - sufficient justification must be made as either how the sex and/or gender considerations will be considered in your research proposal, or why sex and/or gender are not applicable in your research proposal.
