[Faculty of Social Work Field Education Program]

Students are invited to participate in an interprofessional education event hosted by the Office of Interprofessional Collaboration:

The IPE event titled Greg’s Wings will be held in person on June 8th 2026, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Fort Garry Campus.

The event will also take place this Fall on October 5, 2026, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Bannatyne Campus.

The event will include a screening of the film Falling Through the Cracks: Greg’s Story, a virtual Q&A with Greg’s Family, and small-group interprofessional discussions using the attached CIHC Competency Framework for Advancing Collaboration.

The film offers a glimpse into who Greg was and highlights the events of his healthcare journey that ultimately led to his unexpected and tragic death. Through this session—featuring the film viewing, a panel debrief, and small-group interprofessional discussions—students are given an opportunity to explore many of the issues faced by patients and healthcare providers in our current system. Greg’s story is one of many encountered within our healthcare system and serves to illustrate the challenges related to communication and teamwork in delivering safe care.

Field students who attend the event can add up to 2 hours towards their field placement hours on their timesheets.
