UMIH updates: stay at home edition
Dear Friends of the hUManities,
With the university closure, UMIH is maintaining regular office hours from home, Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm. Please send an email if you have any questions! The UMIH voicemail is also being checked regularly if you need to call.
Monday and Thursday morning Write-On-Sites have been rebranded to Write-OFF-Sites to prioritize public health and safety. Write at home and stay healthy!
While UMIH events have been postponed to prioritize the health and safety of our community we are eagerly working on new and exciting ways to deliver programming while distancing measures are in effect, and we can't wait to share our plans with you soon! Rescheduled or re-imagined events to look forward to will include UMIH's partnership with QPOC and Red Rising Magazine for Laugter is Medicine: Youth Comedy Night; talks by UMIH Affiliates, Adrian Thieret and Celiese Lypka; and Wet'suwet'en Solidarity: Local Resonances, a screening of the short film "Invasion" followed by a panel discussion.
For those still interested in learning about what is happening in Wet'suwet'en Territory while at home, you can screen "Invasion" at the following link: https://unistoten.camp/media/invasion/
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy and look after each other! And use your free time to enjoy writing by UMIH's student interns, Stephanie De Souza and Alexa Watson, found on our bloghttps://umhumanities.com/, or apply for UMIH's open call for applications (or to forward them to everyone you know)!
Upcoming UMIH Calls: UMIH is now accepting applications for our Graduate Fellowship, Research Clusters, and Research Affiliates for the 2020-21 year. Please circulate to anyone you know who may be interested in applying. Questions can be directed to: umih@umanitoba.ca
