Hello WISDOM members!
The Women in Science; Development, Outreach, and Mentoring (WISDOM) (https://wisdommb.wordpress.com/our-mission/) Team is excited to open recruitment for our 2025 Longitudinal Mentorship Program! In 2023 and 2024, WISDOM hosted the Longitudinal Mentorship Program (LMP) to support women trainees in the Rady Faculty of Health Science (RFHS) and it was a resounding success. We recruited >20 mentors and >80 mentees that were matched into groups with 2 mentors and 4-6 mentees. This group mentorship structure allowed for a "team" environment, which enhances communication skills, collaboration, and knowledge exchange opportunities in a larger network.
We are now accepting applications for mentees for WISDOM's 2025 LMP, and I wanted to personally invite you to participate in our program! How it works: As a mentee, you will fill out the Application formhttps://forms.gle/eSFDwf7y9uS6mGFKA , which contains a link to view the available mentors. You will rank your top 3 preferred mentors, or if you can't choose, we will choose for you! The mentorship team will then match groups with 2 mentors (at least one will be a preferred mentor) and your fellow mentees. Once matched, there will be a kick-off introduction event (tentative date May 29th) hosted by WISDOM to connect the groups in-person. The program will run until the end of 2025, with a midway event in September and a wrap up event in December to culminate the program. It is expected that mentees will work amongst themselves to organize events with mentors in addition to the planned events. You can also request one on one meetings with your mentors.
